THE THIRD WIFE OF FARADAY HOUSE by BR Meyers

THE THIRD WIFE OF FARADAY HOUSE by B. R. Myers is the perfect fall read!  Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Set in Canada in the early 1800s on a remote island, Emeline arrives to discover that the second wife isn’t dead yet. Fleeing from scandal and hoping to be rescued by the man she loves, Emeline is haunted by ghosts, blood dripping from the ceiling, and her mysterious finance, Captain Graves. Something is seriously amiss at Faraday House and if she doesn’t discover it soon, she might be the next young wife to die. Perfect for Gothic fans of WUTHERING HEIGHTS and JANE EYRE, with a touch of “Crimson Peak.” Loaded with mysteries, awash in atmosphere, and the perfect amount of romance. Readers will love watching Emeline come into her own.

A SEASON OF MURDER by Mary Winters

MURDER IN SEASON by Mary Winters. Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Amelia Amesbury continues to enchant! And solve murder mysteries, of course. Since this is the third book in the A LADY OF LETTERS MYSTERY, I’m just going to list what I loved: The Agony Aunt letters at the beginning of every chapter have so much wit and wisdom. Multiple mysteries at the same time: jewel thefts and murder, oh my!  Amelia’s (Lady Amesbury) love and close relationships with her niece and aunt-in-law. The London season and coming-out balls.  Amelia’s sister, Madge, is a feisty new character that was easy to love. Amelia is such an enjoyable heroine who isn’t afraid to investigate and go under cover. Or fall in love.  I guessed wrong on the whodunnit of one of the mysteries…which will remain a mystery.  A slow burn romance with two kisses that were worth the wait!  Simon. Everything about him! Or should I say Lord Bainbridge?  The Epilogue. You’ll know why when you read it!
